PRESS RELEASE: The Cannabis Regulatory Agency Announces Changes to Michigan Medical Marijuana Program Registry Cards
To: CRA Stakeholders
September 30, 2026 – The Cannabis Regulatory Agency will be implementing changes to the Michigan Medical Marijuana Program (MMMP) patient and caregiver registry cards on October 1st. The new registry cards will:
- Be printed in black-and-white rather than color.
- No longer include a photograph of the cardholder.
- Be produced on thin cardstock instead of the current card material.
All previously issued registry cards will remain valid until their listed expiration date and do not need to be replaced solely because of these changes. These updates are being implemented due to the expiration of the current card-printing equipment and the cost savings associated with the new card format.
