Have you been thinking about getting into Massachusetts’ legal cannabis industry, but don’t know where to start? The Commission’s Social Equity Program (SEP) can help! Apply by November 30 to be considered!

The SEP is a free, statewide technical assistance and training program that creates sustainable pathways into the cannabis market for individuals most impacted by the War on Drugs.

If your application is approved, you become eligible to jump the state’s licensing queue, receive certain fee waivers, get exclusive access to delivery and social consumption licenses, network with mentors and industry participants, and more.

Find out if you are eligible to participate.

How to ApplyYou can apply to participate in the SEP by first creating an account through the Commission’s online Massachusetts Cannabis Industry Portal (MassCIP). Watch the video below to learn more about the application process!

Applicants who have not started should begin as soon as possible. Collecting residency, income, court, or family-relationship documentation may take time.

Applicants with applications in progress should:

  • Confirm that every required question has been answered;
  • Review the documentation requirements for the selected eligibility criterion;
  • Replace incomplete or unreadable files;
  • Confirm that the application contains a current email address and telephone number;
  • Save copies of supporting documents; and
  • Complete the final MassCIP submission step.

An application that remains in draft, started, or incomplete status has not been submitted.
